WELCOME to
Bodoni (1954, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, 10 kilometers south of Amsterdam, the Netherlands) started as a typesetter and printer in an old fashioned printing house. He got his art education at the ’Gerrit Rietveld Academy’ in the early 70’s and became an artist. He worked as an illustrator for several Dutch magazines and books. He also did graphic design of book covers, brochures, folds, posters and pamphlets. Often made for alternative groups in the city of Amsterdam.
He was drawing ’live’ on the streets of Amsterdam as a ’Street comic draftsman’, but was also a stagebuilder and silkscreenprinter for the Summer Street Theater Company. In the early 80’s he became a founding member, cartoonist and editor for the notorious ’Gezellig & Leuk’ Tekenfabriek.
In the late 80’s he moved to Sweden, became a father of lovely twin girls and beautiful bonus children. Bodoni got hired as a kindergarten teacher for some years. He started studies in art therapy at NiArte Institute in Sweden.
Bodoni has worked for over 25 years in treatment homes with young people, often with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, using art as a therapeutic tool...
He prefers to see himself primarily as a draftsman and loves to draw !
